ok first off, lets not even mention that sweater that i'm wearing.
i'd try and make excuses like, "its jordans, i was cold, blah blah blah.."
how about, "i tend to dress like a lost child from time to time." because thats more like it.
but yes, this is what we did for our anniversary.
we headed to ZION for the day to do a hike called Angels Landing.
basically, i had never done it before.
jordan had.
i was dying.
2 1/2 miles UPHILL the whole time.
i wont even tell you that my hips started hurting like an old lady after the first 10 minutes.
i also wont tell you that i had to use my inhaler less than half way thru the hike.
{it was almost 5 miles round trip fyi}
he married a winner didn't he?
but it was beautiful friends.
that last picture, we had finally made it to the top.
there are some hardcore scary parts where you have to hold on to chains.
and i must say that i am proud.
and i'm thankful for my sweet husband who was encouraging the entire time.
thankfully, i didnt pass out right after we had finished.
we had some dinner {which i might post later} and then headed home to cuddle.
and today, i am feeling muscles and aches that i had no idea even existed on my body.
but i am so happy that we made it thru our first year of marriage.
and i am so unbelievably in love with my jordan.
{who, btw, surprised me today with the sweetest letter ever that made me cry happy tears}
happy week!
♥
I would have died. I'm so bad at hikes like this, and I always go with people like it's no big deal, but this lazy girl is not the fastest at hiking. Maybe I should work on that. The pictures you guys got are beautiful. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteWow those pictures are GORGEOUS.
ReplyDeleteThat is seriously BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! I wish we had mountains! If you get to come in June i think a trip to Turkey Run is going to have to happen! I think pictures there would be WONDERFUL! Great trails! I guess its the closest to hiking in indiana haha!
ReplyDeleteum, heaven much?! what a view from up top and the weather just shone it's goodness all over you both. fab shots!!!!
ReplyDeleteokay now, don't i know when i see before me a girl after my own heart. i too dress in "lost child" wares and the boyf has taken to calling it my "feral child" look. haha, although my ensemble usually has some very mangy looking hair to completely pull off this rather heinous style. yours on the other hand looks terrific!
i can't believe you climbed all that way, i'd a been a goner. you should be proud and by the look of his face he sure is too! cheers again to the year in review and for your eternal love being so vibrant! ♥
pea ess: epsom salt bath time i think maybz?! ; )

ReplyDeletei have to be honest.. i hated that hike. yes, the views are AMAZING but those darn switchbacks. never again.

ReplyDeleteand OF COURSE! is there even anywhere else to eat besides Oscars?? i think not. turkey burger in my belly tasted like heaven.
