for your monday.

this video is from my sisters anniversary party.
its quite a long one, but the first six and a half minutes are the sweetest.
long story short, her sweet hub surprised her with a cover band of her favorite, Beirut.
in their living room.
with him as the lead singer.
and he did a WONDERFUL job.
kudos to you sir nathan!

from jennifer:

"So there I was, consoling my friend Miranda with her most recent man issue. She had pulled me back in the bedroom for a quick vent session and I was fully engrossed in her story, because that’s what friends do, they block out whatever other activity might be going on and support their friend in need. Noises were happening in the living room, I barely noticed, until Miranda asked “what’s going on out there?” and I responded with “they probably put on some dumb music” and then insisted on continuing our conversation. Another minute passed before she persuaded me to go investigate the chaos, and then I hear something odd: everyone chanting my name. “Are these people confused?” I thought, “this is mine and Nathan’s anniversary party, not my party…” But then I rounded the corner to discover the living room furniture missing and my adorable husband standing at a microphone. Because I didn’t recognize all of the members of the band, for a split second I actually thought that Beirut was in our living room! And then it clicked, and Nathan gave his sweet speech, and then he sang for me. I burst into tears, because that’s what our family does when we’re happy (or sad, or any emotion for that matter). I was blown away by his beautiful voice (which I had never heard before) and his mad skills on the ukulele he had been hiding under the couch for the past month (which I didn’t know he could play). Magic happened in our living room and it was the most perfect anniversary to ever exist. Oh, and Miranda and her boyfriend weren’t really fighting, they were in on it. I am so blessed to have such amazing friends and a wonderful husband."

  2. That's so sweet that he went to all of that trouble to show her how much he loved her. Guys can be so sweet and thoughtful.

  3. Miranda is some kind of stealth, covert ops specialist to be in on this plan and distract your sister that way! brilliant video and concert, i'd literally pay big bucks to see them live...they are GOOD! my heart melts at how her husband did this. if it was me i'd be a mess of tears for hours. incredible and i so wish i was there! xo ♥
